Raymond Banning has a wealth of experience of teaching, ranging from child beginners through to the preparation of young professionals for performing careers and radio broadcasts.
Raymond's own experience of struggling to overcome technical problems has led him to devise a remarkable method of freeing up each individual so that all can play with ease and make continued progress. Raymond says:
|
| “Nearly all problems stem from physical tension. Any stiffness in shoulders, forearms, wrists will curtail facility. My first job is to show students how to banish all stiffness, and demonstrate how much can be achieved with natural weight. In many ways, the fingers are the last things we work at when developing our technique and my students develop an outstanding tone quality.” |
